Sifu Tony Grimaldi is a certified tai chi instructor, 3rd degree Duan ranking, who offers tai chi classes throughout the Capital Region. He teaches a range of tai chi exercises, incorporating various movements and equipment in each class. Tony offers tai chi classes for beginners as well as techniques for more advanced students. His mission is to educate people about the benefits of tai chi exercise and to help those on their journey to incorporating exercise into their lives.
Tony has been teaching tai chi classes in Saratoga Springs, Malta, Scotia, Schenectady, and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake for over 20 years under the business New Moon Tai Chi. The spiritual meaning behind "new moon" is to start anew. Those who practice spiritual rituals often use this time to reflect and embrace something new.
Tai Chi is Tony's passion. He continues his learning of new forms and styles to incorporate into his classes. He has been practicing tai chi for more than 25 years. He was first introduced to tai chi exercises in 1994 while taking an adult education class in Ballston Spa. He continued his learning by studying with Master Lu Yuzhi, a distinguished tai chi instructor, and Jim Posniewski, a USA National Tai Chi Chuan Federation Champion. Tony has also attended seminars with Master Jesse Tsao of Tai Chi Healthways of San Diego.
